Junior Section

Our Chapel junior section has a thriving membership and offers everything needed to support Junior golfers in a safe environment.
We welcome Juniors of any age and ability and have a selection of programmes which will help to develop them into competent golfers.

Our main aim is to encourage Juniors to learn how to play, how to behave properly on and off the Golf Course in terms of etiquette and most importantly to come together with other children and have some fun in a safe environment!

Through the summer the club runs weekly Junior competitions and we host a Junior Open which will be attended by Juniors from elsewhere.

Junior Programme

We have two sections to our Junior programme, which are:

Beginners - Our PGA professional Nigel Parkinson offers individual lessons for £15 for 30 minutes.

He also runs the “Chapel Chippers” programme which is a group coaching lesson taken with other children.

Once Juniors have taken some lessons and are ready to go out on the course, they move into our Chapel Juniors programme.

Chapel Juniors – This programme is split into 3 categories, which are:
* 3 Holers – Juniors who have attended lessons, have level of competence and are ready and want to get out on the course. It is expected that they will be chaperoned by parents/carers and volunteers. Health & safety guidance, pace of play and general course awareness will be given.

* 7 Holers – Once Juniors are confident and competent to develop to the next stage. They will be invited to progress onto the 7 hole programme. They will be introduced to score cards and will be expected to keep up with the pace of play. We plan to run 7 hole competitions again this year.

* 18 Holers – Juniors will have a handicap and are ready to play in competitions. Coaching and guidance will be given re: card completion, format and pace and safety of play.

Our PGA professional, Nigel Parkinson, overseas our Junior programme and he is fully supported by volunteers who have had the relevant England Golf DBS checks and parents.

Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club is a perfect venue for the young golfer to excel at sport.
