Chapel Golf Club has the Competitive Edge
Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club continues to go from strength to strength. The club’s golf development programme which is aimed at attracting golfers of all ages and abilities, and which was a major factor in the club’s GolfMark club of the year award in February has continued to produce results, and has helped the club to sign up over 120 new members across all categories since April this year.
The golf development programme signalled the beginning of a new era at Chapel amid a realisation that the traditional golf club structure had become outdated and was unlikely to allow the club to prosper in future years. In recognition of the need for change, the club have now signed a deal with golf management company Competitive Edge Golf to manage and operate all golf related activities at Chapel.
Competitive Edge open the doors of a brand new state of the art Professionals shop on Saturday 4th September at 8am, Members and visitors will be greeted by the team and invited to peruse the new shop with a prize balloon release, special opening offers on both golf products and coaching. Come along and enter a free prize draw to win a '4Ball and 1hour group lesson package'

A graduate of Manchester Metropolitan Universityand The University of Birmingham for Sports, Coaching and Exercise Science and Professional Golf Studies respectively, Jonny has recently joined the Competitive Edge team after successfully completing his PGA training at Upton-by-Chester Golf Club and Delamere Forest Golf Club.
Jonny says ‘I’m excited to get started at Chapel Golf Club with both the members and visitors and helping to provide both the ideal Pro-Shop experience and coaching methodologies, to enable individuals to excel in their golfing performance; a formula that Competitive Edge believes in’.
Competitive Edge has been engaged at Chapel to help to take the golfing experience to the next level for both members and visitors to the club. Steve Woolley, Club Captain says ‘Plans to develop Chapel to ensure we are the first choice club for golfers in the HighPeakarea started long before we achieved the prestigious Golfmark club of the year award back in February. The world of Golf is changing dramatically and in order to continue increasing both member and visitor levels at Chapel we need to be both forward thinking and proactive in our approach. The partnership with Competitive Edge will enable us to offer a more complete package to all golfers in the High Peak area, to this end, the next stage in our development includes plans for the first indoor golf coaching and improvement centre in the area with an anticipated completion date during Summer / Autumn 2011’.
